From the Homoeopathic point of view meditation does not mean
that you take a mantra and you say everybody get out of the
room I want to meditate and try to divert your mind by
concentrating on some mantra. In this way suppression happens.
True meditation being aware, not doing anything, not pushing
away anything. But sitting and just watching the sensations
that are there in your body and in your mind. Just watching,
not reacting to them, not going with them, not giving energy
to them. Suddenly there is some tension about money and
immediately you start thinking which stock should I sell ? How
is the market ? It should be ‘I have tension. The tension is
coming just watch it. It is going. You experience some
physical sensation, watch it. It goes. So just be true to
yourself. Be aware of what is happening within you. When you
do that a very interesting fact comes out that the problem is
not outside, it is inside. This is the main problem. The world
outside is not the problem, it is the turmoil within you.
Nothing in the world outside can affect you if there is no
turmoil within you. So do not look outside. We spend lots of
time in the day looking outside, what is he doing, what is she
doing, what can I do, how can I behave, how can I do this to
him, etc. Most of the time of day goes in that.
Atleast for some part of
the day close your eyes and you look inside. What is within.
First you become aware of the breath. Most of the times we are
not even aware that we are breathing. We are so busy looking
outside. We don’t even know we are breathing until we get
asthma. Then you know I am breathing
So become aware, whenever
there is a turmoil, there is a problem , an emotional problem
look inside, become aware of what is happening within you.
This will not only help you become aware but you can also tell
the Homoeopath that these are the things I observed and he can
